It's unknown at this time...
Some of you may be unaware of who Qu (Wang) Yue Yue (Lulu) is, because for reasons unknown to me, the US media, seems to be largely putting her story on the back burner.
On October 13, 2011, at 5:25PM, a beautiful two year old girl, wandered away from her parents who were working in their family owned hardware store... wandering in the street, she was hit by two utility vans, and lay in the street for seven excruciatingly long minutes in which 18 people (One of them, a mother of a five-year-old girl, said she felt "regretful, compassionate, painful at heart and guilty, I truly thought she had fallen down from playing and didn't know she was run over by vehicles until her mother came in tears. She was bleeding from the mouth and nose and crying faintly. I was scared and my daughter was scared to cry. So we left in a hurry. I wanted to lift her, but there was so much blood. I was scared. If someone was helping at that time, I would have done the same.") walking and driving by decide not to help her. A street scavenger named Chen Xianmei finally came upon her and gently moved her out of harms way despite harsh words from street vendors telling her to mind her own business, it was soon after that Feifei runs up and collects Yue Yue, she was then transported to the hospital.

I was in brief contact with Qu Feifei, (Yue Yue's mother) via Sina Weibo (China's solution to Twitter), but my Sina Weibo has been suspended as has my Weibo email account, and I've gotten some really nice emails from PROC, asking me to cease contact with the Qu's (Wang's). Sadly, now Feifei won't return any of my emails either.
This is a clear sign of PROC censorship at work.
There are the conflicting reports on China Daily and Xinhua, two agencies controlled by the government, about whether or not YueYue is still alive. When I last heard from Feifei, she was, but things could have very well changed since that time.
There is also China Daily’s story, in which it was reported the drivers who hit Yue Yue had not seen her on the road, and were sorry for their mistake. The Shanghaiist blog, reported a totally different story the same day, writing that one of the drivers had admitted to trying to escape before anyone saw him and attempted to bribe Yue Yue’s father to stay quiet. The Shanghaiist story is the same story I was given by the Qu (Wang) family.
China Daily also reported that the many passersby hadn’t noticed Yue Yue lying on the street, while the video makes it very clear at least some of them did.
I hope she is still alive. I hope that Feifei contacts me.
